A redesign of the ITA Airways livery which was announced on October 15th as the successor to the iconic Alitalia brand.
For the prompt, I took to the task of leaving the existing logo and color palette used while also introducing the darker "azzurro". The addition of the ITA logo on the tail also ties together a new and unknown brand with the flag, leaving no doubt that ITA is the new flag carrier for Italy.
The new two-tone blue scheme breaks the the monotonous all blue fuselage that was previously announced and accentuates the tail element of the tricolore on the rudder, a feature that hails back to the Alitalia scheme's of the 1960's. Towards the front, the ITA logo has been downsized to eliminate the billboard titles - a characteristic usually associated with low-cost carriers.
The final output produces a stronger visual marker amongst a composition of like tail fins..
..with ITA, the tricolore and the azzuro cementing its place as the new face of Italy in the skies.
